Q4 Fuels Husqvarna Racing heads to Zone 7 in Cape Town 30 March, looking to continue its winning form in the PE TRP Distributors South African National Motocross Championship opener in February. Cape local Neil van der Vyver leads the 65cc Junior class after a dominant display, Maddy Malan powered to win the second MX1 win to lead that title to Zone 7 and Nick Adams took the second MX2 moto win in PE and all three are hell bent on faring even better in the Cape.

“Our season started brilliantly,” 11 year old 2017 SA 50cc motocross champion Neil confirmed. “I rode to double victories in Port Elizabeth and now I bring the red plate home to Cape Town, so I really cannot wait for Zone 7! “This is our second season in 65s — I spent last year learning and so far our plan has worked in 2019 and I hope for much more of the same — we have been working hard, I have an incredible team behind me and my Q4 Fuels Husqvarna is primed to win.”

In motocross, the championship leader in each class is identified by white numbers on a red background and Pietermaritzburg rider Maddy Malan similarly brings a red plate to the Cape in the 450cc MX1 class. “We had a good start in Port Elizabeth and my second moto win brought me the overall honours for the day and the championship lead,” Maddy explained. “Now we need to continue the momentum and build on that solid foundation.”

Nick Adams may not have the privilege of arriving at Zone 7 with a red plate, but he certainly has the advantage of winning the last MX2 race in PE. “It was fantastic to score a moto win on my first outing for Q4 Husqvarna Racing,” Nick admitted. “I had to fight back after an early tumble in the first heat, but moto 2 was great — now we need more of the same at my home track.”
