Motorcycle sport, like all other sports, has the potential to have an environmental impact on the earth’s natural resources. The task of reducing the environmental impact of motor sport is daunting, and motorcycle competitors can play highly instrumental role. As participants, they are directly affected by a degraded environment, inasmuch as it threatens their performances, their health and even their lives.

TARGET GROUP

Any person who competes or is actively involved in any motorcycle competition, whether as a rider, participant, team manager, crew or team support staff member.

Organisers and stewards are also invited.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

To familiarise competitors with the environmental requirements of the FIM Environmental Code.

Marius Matthee will illustrate during the webinar practical ways in which, by following a few basic rules and guidelines, you can help to reduce your environmental impact at the races in which you participate.

About the Presenter:

Marius Matthee is an Environmental Health Practitioner, with diverse expertise in environmental sciences, public health and related fields. As a motor sports administrator, he has held various executive positions and is currently a FIM Sustainability Commission Member and Vice-President of FIM AFRICA.
