In a bid to promote domestic tourism, the Enduro Club of Uganda will host the first round of the FIM Central Africa Enduro and 4x4 challenge in Kalangala Ssese Island.
The April, 20 event is expected to attract competitors from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Kampala.
“Kalangala is a habitant of so many tourism features and taking the event to the Island is a way of exploring the tourism benefits the Island has,” Clerk of the course Joe Burua said.
Burua added that it will be a fully packed day of activities in Kalangala on Saturday April 21.
“We will start with a bikers race, then autocross championship, a 4x4 wheel drive car challenge before climaxing with the Enduro championship which also doubles as the first round of the National championship,” Burua said.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) will partner with other stakeholders to promote road safety under the theme ‘Let’s go helmets’.
