MXGP REACHES 500K FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM!

NEUQUEN (Patagonia Argentina), 4 March 2018 - As the 2018 FIM Motocross World Championship racing starts in Patagonia-Argentina, Youthstream would like to thank the fans for supporting us to reach the milestone of 500k followers on Instagram and use this occasion to reflect back to inform on the success and growth of the various MXGP digital platforms in 2017.


Youthstream believes strongly in the important role that communication plays in the success of both the MXGP World Championship and motocross as a whole. Such is evident by the variety of digital platforms in which MXGP has invested its time and efforts towards.


MXGP in fact proudly announces it has just reached the Instagram milestone 500,000 followers up from 363,055 at the beginning of 2017. Of the various mediums that the World Championship is present through, the MXGP collection of Social Media is one of the most valuable and most successful. In 2017 Instagram content alone has been seen over 87.7 million times by more than 23.6 million people. While the top country for Instagram is none other than that of the now 9 time FIM Motocross World Champion Antonio Cairoli, Italy, it is closely followed by consumers from both the United States and Indonesia.


In addition to the successful year for Instagram the MXGP Facebook page achieved its 2 millionth like. Facebook has become and remains a major tool in the representation of MXGP and the FIM Motocross World Championship used by many fans as a main source for MXGP news, photos, videos and updates. The Facebook page grew from 1.1 Million fans at the beginning of year 2017 to now nearly 2.2 million averaging over 3,000 new fans per day. The page is also used as a promotion tool and contest host for fans, most significantly the page hosted the brand new MXGP Video Editor contest where fans took Youthstream provided footage and created a 2-3 minute video edit showcasing the racing and atmosphere of the MXGP Championship. Over 50 video editors entered the competition from professionals to amateurs in total providing several hours of user created content. One lucky winner has been chosen as the best edit and announced in the February edition of MXGP Mag. While Facebook is popular worldwide, Indonesian fans make up over 800,000 of 2.2 million Facebook likes making Indonesia the largest consumer market of all digital platforms, one of the contributing factors for back to back Indonesian GP’s.


The official digital magazine of the FIM Motocross World Championship, MXGP Mag, reached the impressive milestone of 1 Million reads at the end of the 2017 Season. The digital magazine is produced monthly since the first edition was published in September of 2013. It was on its 4th anniversary in September 2017 that the 1 millionth read was recorded and the magazine is continuing to gain traction year after year in terms of performance.


Of the magazine’s now 53 published issues the highest performing was that of September 2016 featuring the presentation of the brand new event SMX Riders’ and Manufacturers Cup, the Preview of probably one of the most groundbreaking MXoN of the history, the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations Presented by Fiat Professional held in Maggiora, Italy, with more than 100,000 reads. On a monthly basis the magazine hosts several must read features such as the Hall of Fame with articles on motocross Hall of Famers such as Stefan Everts, Ricky Carmichael, and John-Michel Bayle to name a few. Also included is a catch up on what you may have missed from the most recent races, a Vintage Bike special feature, the FOX Holeshot standings, the fun paddock talks section as well as social media content including featured questions from fans to the editor and our Facebook page.


Released for the first time in 2017 was a MXGP Mag Christmas Special Vintage Edition featuring a Hall of Fame Article Collection from all Magazines, the MXGP Mag vintage bike collection, plus a special section with a photo gallery of bikes from the private collection of Youthstream. While MXGP Mag’s highest readership comes from Italy, followed by United States and Great Britain, it is read worldwide has made a staggering 17.5 million impressions.


Youthstream is also proud of the performance of its YouTube channel, MXGP-TV, which just recently hit the significant milestone of 100,000 subscribers and more than 58 Million views! YouTube subscribers are the first to see the newest video content from the MXGP FIM Motocross World Championship, the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, and more. Content which can be seen on the channel includes Studio Shows, Welcome Videos, Postcards, GoPro Track Previews, News Highlights, Pit Chats, Team Reports, and exclusive Action Videos.


Last but not least, MXGP-TV for the very first time shows an archive of thousands of hours of premium content for its fans around the world. The archive includes all races since 2010 on demand plus some of the past exclusive content such as funny videos, interviews and Behind the Gate Magazines among the others.
