2016 MX OF AFRICAN NATIONS FIM AFRICA's GREENEST TEAM AWARD

BE THE “GREENEST TEAM” AT THIS YEAR'S FIM AFRICA MOTOCROSS OF AFRICAN NATIONS

 

 

Motorcycle competitors have an important role to play on a variety of issues as both role models and participants. A degraded environment affects them directly in as much as it threatens their performance, health and even their lives. Every competitor and member of the service crews must be aware of the requirements of the FIM AFRICA Environmental Code and must follow a series of conditions ensuring the environmental sustainability of the race as well as a total respect for the environment. By following these basic guidelines, it gives competitors an ideal opportunity to create a sustainable legacy for future motorsport generations and inspire others to adopt environmentally responsible behaviour.

 

 

HOW YOU CAN BE THE "GREENEST TEAM"

 

 

The Award can be won through concrete and proven actions in favour of the protection of our natural environment.

 

The award is for the country team that shows throughout the event the best collective behavior towards respecting the conditions of the FIM AFRICA Environmental Code, combined with other innovative actions that demonstrate environmental awareness and/or behavior change.

 

The Greenest Team in 2016 MX of African Nations will have demonstrated:

  • Signing up by all competitors the FIM Africa Charter on Respect for Environment
  • Servicing and stationing ALL motorcycles on Environmental Mats
  • Washing motorcycles and parts in the designated Washing Bay only
  • Disposing waste oil and other motorcycle fluids and oily solid waste in designated containers
  • Sorting out and disposing recyclable waste (Plastic bottles, Glass, Metals) in designated bags/bins
  • Disposing litter in waste bags / bins
  • Not riding motorcycles inside the pits area and avoiding unnecessary running of engines
  • Other innovative environmental effort(s)

 

 

THE AWARD

 

 

The award will be judged by the FIM AFRICA Environmental Stewart and FIM Jury Members and will be announced and presented at the post-race prize giving ceremony.
